At Mark Solutions, we operate our dedicated testing facility, where our experts conduct extensive mold trials to evaluate and refine the mold’s performance. These trials are essential to producing desired products as efficiently as possible.

Our molds, including Custom Plastic Injection Moulds and Blow Moulds, are meticulously crafted by specially selected toolmakers. Before they are transported to our production sites, comprehensive mold trials are conducted to ensure their effectiveness.

Our involvement in this process is hands-on. We work closely with our experts to discuss mold constructions and technical solutions, ensuring that the first phase of the mold trial yields a product of exceptional quality. This first phase, known as “first out of the tool” (FOT), involves injecting molten plastic into the mold for the first time.

During this phase, we meticulously test various aspects, including whether the mold closes perfectly, the effectiveness of cooling, the quality of the product ejection, and the presence of any defects, flashes, air traps, or deformations. The findings from this phase inform the modifications required to optimize the mold’s performance.

The next phase involves presenting the resulting product to our clients, where we jointly assess cosmetic aspects and cycle time. This phase also includes obtaining customer feedback and making necessary adjustments to achieve perfection.

Finally, we conduct a third mold trial with the fully optimized mold, focusing on the finishing touches. This includes decisions on surface textures, such as choosing between a matte or glossy finish.

Once the product reaches a state of perfection and meets both customers and our exact requirements, it’s ready for mass production. This final on-site mold trial is vital, as conditions can vary, such as cooling water temperature.
